                            Responsibilities of SBM (Stand By Man)

Whenever work is done in a confined space, a person is called to standby man there to see the work happening inside or outside work. And in case of any kind of sound in the work being done inside the emergency, they do their duty there.

                 A Stand By Man has the following types of Responsibilities 

1.  Insure that permit has taken :- Stand By Man has one of the responsibilities of                                                            whether a work permit is taken or not.

2.  He should know about the hazards of confined space :- A Stand By Man know                                                                                               about all the types of hazards identified during the task in which the confined space is working.so that the work situation can be considered as standby man.


3  He should know the emergency plan :- Stand By Man should know about the                                                                     emergency planning made before the work in the confined space.

4  Managing list for entry and exit of person working confined space :- During the                                                                                                             work in the confined space, all the workers or employees who go in or out in confined space should enter the information in a log book.

5. Guided to workers about hazards of confined space :- Workers or employees                                                                                              who are present there to work in the confined space should disclose all the information about the hazards so that they can use the right equipment in a safe manner in an emergency.

6. Provided guideline to workers entering in confined space for working :- All                                                                                                                          workers and employees should be given guidelines to work in the confined space before entering the confined space. So that you can work with safety in the confined space.
